Property struck by lorry on A41 at Shakeford to be completely demolished
The A41 at Shakeford could open early following a decision to completely demolish a property which was damaged when a lorry collided with it last week.

A large section of the listed property was due to be demolished almost piece by piece while preserving as much of the materials as possible.
Work to demolish the whole of the building has now been agreed because the damaged property continues to pose a serious risk to members of the public and contractors.
The work to remove the damaged building began this morning and will also include removing the materials from the cellar, and installing appropriate support and guarding, to allow further investigations of the cellar walls and adjacent highway.
It is hoped the new arrangements will bring forward the reopening of the A41.
