Shrewsbury Fields Forever Festival today confirmed that this year's festival won't be taking place with the company set to enter into voluntary liquidation.

Shrewsbury Fields Forever Festival confirm event is cancelled

On Monday it was revealed that Shrewsbury Town Council had taken the decision not to proceed with finalising the booking for the rescheduled Shrewsbury Fields Forever Festival, which was due to take place over the weekend of Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September.

Today, Dene Edwards, Director of Forever Invasion Ltd trading as Shrewsbury Fields Forever Festival said:

"It is with great sadness that as a consequence of the decision of Shrewsbury Town Council to cancel the use of this year’s venue for the event, so close to the show date, Forever Invasion Ltd, the Company behind the event, has been required to seek professional advice and the decision has been taken to cease to trade.

"I have today instructed Irwin Insolvency, Station House, Midland Drive, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands B72 1TU to assist with the formal process of putting the Company into Creditors Voluntary Liquidation.

"It is the intention of Irwin Insolvency to now circulate relevant details of this matter to all of the known creditors (to including ticket holders), however, should you need any information in the meantime you can contact Craig Partridge at Irwin Insolvency directly on 0121 321 1700 or by email craig@irwinuk.net.

"In respect of all ticket holders it is my understanding that the best option available to you in these regrettable circumstances is to contact your debit/credit card issuing organisation and advise them that the event has been cancelled and as such you require a refund."

Mr Edwards said he had requested more detail from Shrewsbury Town Council on the reasons for their decision not to allow the event to take place in Shrewsbury's Quarry Park.
