Police release sketches of two suspects in Telford rape investigation

The offence, which was reported to police on Wednesday 25 May, occurred on the evening of Sunday 8 May at a private address believed to be in the Leegomery area of Telford.

One of the men has been described as white, approximately 5' 10" tall, of a stocky build with short dark hair and freckles. He is thought to speak with a Polish accent and has a tattoo on his left forearm of what have been described as lines in a dark blue colour. He is also thought to have a 'tear drop' tattoo on his left little finger.

The second male is also thought to speak with a Polish accent and is approximately 5' 10" tall and of a slim build. He is thought to be in his thirties, has short hair with a mole on the left hand side of his face and a stud earring in his right ear. He is thought to have been wearing a gold bracelet, a dark blue baseball cap, jogging bottoms with white trainers and a black hooded jumper with a green and cream emblem on the chest.

Detective Inspector Robert Mountford, who is leading the investigation, said:

"We hope that the release of these images will result in the positive identification of these men, who are suspected of the rape of a 30-year-old woman in Telford.

"We are appealing in particular to the local Polish community, and to those employers in the area that have a significant Polish workforce also.

"This offence is undoubtedly concerning for the local community and I would like to reassure residents that attacks of this type are rare. Specialist officers continue to provide support to the victim and any information from the public will greatly assist the investigation and help ensure the offenders are brought to justice."

If you recognise the men in these images or have any information in relation to this incident please get in touch with police by calling the non-emergency number 101, West Mercia , asking for Telford CID on extension 5015.

Information can also be passed on anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website: www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
