Police appeal for witnesses after woman is bitten by dogs in Telford

The incident happened at around 4.50pm, the woman was walking a greyhound in Heatherdale when two other dogs approached her and bit the greyhound.

The woman was also bitten on her hands as she tried help her dog. Her wounds required medical treatment and the greyhound required veterinary treatment.

The dogs are believed to be two Staffordshire Bull Terriers. One was described as small and brindle-coloured, and the other was large with black and white markings. It's believed that one of the dogs had a harness on and the other wasn't wearing a collar or lead.

The two dogs were being walked by a woman, who is described as being in her 40s or 50s, between 5'3" and 5'4", of a slim build with short dark hair. She was believed to be wearing jeans and a white or navy t-shirt.

It's believed the woman who was with the Staffordshire Bull Terriers did not own them and was walking them for someone else.

Officers would like to speak to the walker of the two dogs to assist with enquiries, and to anyone who witnessed the incident. Please call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident 0619S of 31 August 2016.
