Two men receive head injuries during aggravated burglary in Telford

Police were called to a property on Bishopdale at around 11.40pm after receiving reports of an assault on two men, one aged in his 50s and the other in his 20s.

An unknown man gained entry to the property and demanded money, before proceeding to assault the two men with what is believed to be a blunt object.

Both victims received head injuries as a result of the assault and were taken to hospital for treatment.

The unknown man is described as black, about 6ft tall and of slightly above average build. He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms with a black or blue bomber-style jacket and was also wearing a black, thick-wool balaclava. The man is thought to have left the property on foot in an unknown direction.

Detective Sergeant Dafydd Jones of West Mercia Police said: "Firstly, I would like to reassure the local community that we are treating this as an isolated incident.

"Officers are working to swiftly identify the suspect and we would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

"If you saw anything suspicious at the time or saw a man matching the description above, please contact police on 101 and quote incident number 825s of 2 October."

Alternatively, if you want to give information but don't want to give your name you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or use their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers.org.uk.
