Firefighters tackle fire involving unattended cooking in Telford

Firefighters were called to the property at Orient Court in Woodside, Telford, at around 2.22am.

The small fire involved unattended cooking on a hob.

Three fire appliances were mobilised from Telford and Tweedale along with an operations officer.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a covering jet and hosereel jet to put out the fire. Smoke was cleared from the property using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

The man was checked over by West Midlands Ambulance Service for effects of smoke inhalation.

West Mercia Police also attended.
