Registered Nurses are being invited to The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital – for a special recruitment day that could see them going home with a new job.

RJAH looking to attract Registered Nurses with recruitment day

The event, on Sunday 20 November (10am to 2pm), will see the Oswestry-based hospital throwing open the doors to let newly qualified and experienced nurses tour the different wards and departments, be interviewed for posts and even accept job offers on the same day.

The hospital’s main entrance will be transformed into a hub where visiting nurses can meet with different teams. Staff Nurse posts, ward and theatre posts are among the many opportunities currently on offer.

Bev Tabernacle, Director of Nursing, is keen to see as many nurses as possible on the day.

She said: “This is a fantastic place to be a nurse. We’re looking for experienced or newly qualified nurses to join our teams; we have a fantastic support framework for these nurses to support development and progression.

“We want nurses who show compassion and exhibit the behaviours which will enable them to deliver excellent care to our patients. Full and part-time posts are available, we can also offer rotational posts to widen the experience of those nurses who may want to work with us.

“We advertise roles in the usual way on our NHS Jobs page all the time, but we wanted to meet as many nurses as possible through the day, and provide them with an offer of employment following assessment on the day through the ‘one stop shop’ day.

“This is the perfect way to invite people in and give them a taste of what’s on offer. We want to show nurses how great it is to work here and let them see for themselves how we maintain a high level of patient care.”

Sue Pryce, Deputy Director of Human Resources said: “The service the hospital provides is growing rapidly. We want enthusiastic, skilled nurses to fill the roles that are now appearing because of these expansions.

“Having a recruitment day is a great way to reach out to those candidates who could do well in the Trust. It’s also a great way of showing what we do for staff in terms of careers and education. Sometimes an advert doesn’t do it justice.

“However we always want to hear from potential staff, through the recruitment day or otherwise. There are always new opportunities appearing if you check the NHS Jobs page regularly.”

If you are interested in attending the day, please let us know in advance by contacting our HR team in 01691 404390 human.resources@rjah.nhs.uk.
