Police are seeking to speak to four men after an unprovoked assault in Telford in broad daylight on Saturday.

Man knocked unconscious in unprovoked Telford assault

A 21-year-old man suffered facial and rib injuries after an assault in an alleyway between Manse Road and Regal Court in Hadley around 11.45am on Saturday 29 October.

The man said he was walking past a group of four men - two of whom were reportedly drinking alcohol - he was hit on the side of the head and fell to the floor losing consciousness.

After coming round, he was hit again to the face before the men - who are believed to be eastern European - walked away towards Regal Court.

The victim was taken to hospital for further treatment.

PC Dan Follows of West Mercia Police said: "This is a concerning incident and there appears to be no motive behind the assault.

"We are interested in any witnesses who may have seen the assault or a group of four white men drinking together in the Hadley area around the time of the offence.

"We are urging anyone within the community who may have information that can help identify the men to come forward and ensure they are brought to justice."

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 0366S of October 29.
