Canine charity takes unusual approach to finding potential adopters

Fifteen volunteers from Finding Furever Homes, which uses kennels in Condover, Shropshire, took a number of dogs for a walk through Quarry Park in Shrewsbury on Sunday 6 November in the hope that the animals would have a good time and might even bump into a local dog lover wanting to offer them a home.

Charity trustee, Andrea Newton, who was the brains behind the idea said not only did the dogs have a great day away from kennel life but it was a brilliant way for people to find out that the charity exists.

She said: "As a small charity with no staff and a huge number of dogs in need of out help we are always desperate for furever homes for dogs - so we decided to take some of those animal out to meet the pubic so they can see what lovely animals we have."
