Police appeal for witnesses to serious injury collision in Dawley, Telford

Police investigating a collision in Dawley, Telford, in which two people suffered serious injuries are appealing for witnesses.

The collision happened at about 9.50am on Thursday, 3 November and involved a red Ford Fiesta which was travelling along Springhill Road and a blue Nissan Almera which was turning out of Station Road into Springhill Road.

An 89-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman, who were trapped in the Fiesta and released by emergency services, suffered serious head injuries. The man was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital and the woman was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital, Shrewsbury. They remain in hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the Almera was injured but was released from hospital after treatment.

Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or saw either of the vehicles, and the manner in which they were being driven, before the collision occurred.

They would particularly like to hear from the driver of a white lorry which was at the junction at the time of the collision and might have important information.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident 152S of 3 November.
