Emergency services were called to the scene of a collision which closed the A49 at Little Stretton this morning.

Collision closes A49 at Little Stretton

The collision occurred at around 9.15am and involved a single vehicle which left the road and collided with a hedge.

One male had become trapped in the vehicle, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service crews used Holmatro cutting equipment to release him.

Fortunately the driver was not seriously injured. It's thought icy conditions led to the incident.

The Midlands Air Ambulance landed nearby.

West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

The road was closed in both directions.
