Telford Shopping Centre kick starts Christmas with lights switch-on fun day
The seasonal celebrations are officially underway at Telford Shopping Centre after a spectacular lights switch-on fun day that took place on Saturday.

The action packed programme of enchanting events started at 10am and ended with the final switch on of the Christmas lights from Signal 107 presenter, Dicky Dodd at 4pm.
Glynn Morrow, Telford Shopping Centre manager, said: “Thanks to our jam-packed schedule of events, Saturday was one of our busiest and successful Christmas launces ever. It was great to see the smiles on the faces of visitors across the centre as they were wowed by performances from Bjorn the Bear, the Ice Queen, Sparky the Robot as well as a whole host of other performers.
“We hope it got everyone in the Christmas spirit and we look forward to welcoming even more visitors over the festive season.
“There are still £500 worth of Christmas prizes to be won as part of our all new ‘what’s in the box?’ competition. Make sure to visit our special TV installation around the Christmas tree and pick up an entry form to be in with a chance of winning.”
Taking centre stage during the day was Bjorn the Bear, an animatronic polar bear that astounded and delighted both children and adults alike.
Visitors were left in awe as they watched the full-size bear walk, blink, sniff and even make sounds, creating a Christmas memory they will never forget.
Also featured on the day was mechanical marvel, Sparky the Robot, a Snow Queen complete with an Arctic ice chariot that showered guests with snow as well local choir groups such as Barbershop Chorus, the Telford Dairies and a high-energy performance from champion all-girl street dance group, Entourage.
There were also energetic visual displays from stilt-walking fairy tale princesses, and Winter Wonderland Birds, who dazzled spectators with their stunning illuminated fanned tails.
