Shifnal man sentenced to nine years in prison for rape
A man from Shifnal was found guilty of rape and sentenced to nine years in prison at Hereford Crown Court today.

The sentencing of Santokh Minhas, 67, follows extensive work by dedicated police officers from the Adults at Risk team within the Protecting Vulnerable People unit at West Mercia Police, who have worked closely with the victim, who has learning difficulties, throughout the investigation.
Minhas was told by His Honour Judge Cole that he had betrayed the trust placed in him and allowed his sexual desires to overcome common decency.
Detective Constable Pauline Newton of West Mercia Police, who specialises in protecting adults at risk said:
"Minhas exploited his victim's vulnerability with his manipulative behaviour and as a result she has suffered terribly.
"With that in mind, he was thoroughly deserving of his sentence and I hope this sends a message to those people who are sexually exploiting vulnerable people that we will do everything in our power to bring you to justice and protect those who need protection."
