Residents in the Aston on Clun and Pitchford areas of Shropshire are being invited to a drop in session hosted by Severn Trent today.

Severn Trent to host drop in sessions ahead of £850,000 pipe replacement

The water company is planning to invest around £850,000 in Shropshire, by replacing nearly four and half miles of water pipes to help improve water quality in the area.

Before work starts, Severn Trent is inviting residents to attend one of three drop in sessions to hear all about their plans.

Gareth Mead from Severn Trent says: “We’re really excited to start this project in Shropshire and to help everything run as smoothly possible, we really want to hear from the local people, as after all, they know the area the best.

“We’re holding three drop in sessions next week to give everyone an opportunity to attend and discuss any concerns, we’d also want to hear any hints or tips for when we work in Shropshire that could help us to do the work with the minimum disruption – so, if you can, please come see us.

“It’s really vital we do this work in Shropshire as the benefits will be enormous for the communities, we want to continue to provide the local people with top quality drinking water and make sure they experience fewer bursts and interruptions.

Gareth added: “We’re going to wait until after Christmas before we start as we want to cause as little disruption as possible over the holiday.”

Work is due to start in the New Year, with Severn Trent contract partners Amey carrying out the work.

Drop in sessions will take place on:
- Monday 12 December 2016 in Pitchford Village Hall, SY5 7DW, between 4pm and 7pm
- Monday 12 December Aston on Clun Village Hall, Broome Road, SY7 8EH between 4pm and 7pm.
- Wednesday 14 December 2016 in Clows Top Victory Hall, DY14 9HX, between 3pm and 6pm
