An elderly woman was treated for smoke inhalation following a small fire at a home in Cressage this evening.

Fire appliances from Much Wenlock and Shrewsbury were called to the property on Severn Way at just before 6.30pm.

The fire involved a table lamp and was out on arrival of the fire service.

Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hot spots.
