Suspected wartime device discovered in Whitchurch
A suspected unexploded wartime device was discovered in Whitchurch town centre this afternoon.
Brownlow Street was closed in both directions between Deermoss Lane and Saint John's Street following the discovery at around 2pm.
It's understood that a bomb disposal unit attended and removed the device which was discovered in the area.
The device was taken to a nearby field and safely disposed of in a controlled explosion.
