Former Telford police officer who resigned 'would have been dismissed' for gross misconduct
A former West Mercia Police officer recently based in Telford 'would have been dismissed' for gross misconduct, had he not resigned a hearing has concluded.

The hearing follows an investigation by the Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police Anti-Corruption Unit.
The allegation against the officer centred on his dishonesty, lack of integrity and discreditable conduct regarding property he should have returned to a previous partner.
The misconduct hearing was held at Leek Wootton on 8 and 9 April and attended by former Detective Constable Robert Hall and conducted by legally qualified chair, Douglas Readings.
Former DC Hall, 37, had completed 16 years of service and resigned from his position in November 2018 but the panel determined that the allegation was proven on all counts and he would have been dismissed for his actions.
Superintendent Helena Bennett, Head of Professional Standards for West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Police, said: "We expect all our officers and staff to uphold the highest standards of behaviour and the officer in this case has failed to do so."
West Mercia Police says it accepted the decision of the panel. The outcome of the misconduct hearing is subject to the normal appeals process.
