Firefighters called to fire at Oakengates restaurant and takeaway

Firefighters have been dealing with a fire at Kay's Lounge restaurant and takeaway in Oakengates today.

Firefighters called to fire at Oakengates restaurant and takeaway

The fire broke out in an extraction unit at the 3-storey building at around 9.45am.

Four fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform and the Incident Command Unit were mobilised from Telford Central, Tweedale and Wellington.

Fire crews used breathing apparatus, and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

Operations, Fire Investigation, Safety and Principal officers were also in attendance.

The fire was confirmed to be out by 12.20pm.
