Tenants sought to help shape Wrekin’s future
The Wrekin Housing Group is on the hunt for tenants to help make the housing association make a difference to people’s lives.
Wrekin, who provide affordable homes to over 28,000 people across Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire and Staffordshire, is looking for tenants to get involved, have their say and help improve services.
Wrekin has a number of volunteer opportunities for tenants, including:
- Surveys
- Attending events online and in person
- Working with us to review our services
- Joining formal groups within Wrekin
- Coming along to one off events, such as clean up days in neighbourhoods
Wrekin have roles to suit everyone, no matter how much time you have to give and whatever your experience. Your time and feedback can help us to make a real difference to our services for all of our customers.
Involved tenants have already had a huge impact on improving services for all Wrekin residents. Tenants have been involved in the selection process for new contractors and helped to re-shape ways for customers to get involved. Wrekin tenants have also played a crucial role in improving how we deal with repairs and deciding on Community Fund applications.
Hazel Edwards, Head of Customer Voice and Value at The Wrekin Housing Group said:
“There are many different ways tenants can get involved - depending on how much time they can spare. Whether it’s taking a few minutes each month to complete a survey, or joining either a virtual or in person meeting – we have opportunities to work around what they have going on in your life.
“Getting involved brings many rewards: you can meet new people, learn new skills as well as help improve the services you and your fellow Wrekin tenants receive. You will also get the satisfaction of seeing the changes your involvement has made”.
