Special nativity scene unveiled at Shropshire landmark

A life-size nativity scene has been unveiled at a Shropshire landmark. The festive scene has been created by the new owners of the Halfway House on The Wrekin, The Yellow Ribbon Community, to celebrate their first Christmas at the café and community centre.
It was officially launched by Councillor Angela McClements, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Tourism, Culture & the Arts at Telford & Wrekin Council.
She commented: "I am delighted to have been invited by the Yellow Ribbon Community to celebrate and help unveil the amazing life-size nativity at the Halfway House on the Wrekin, which will be on display until the New Year.
“It’s a truly magical experience so we hope people will come along to see it and to join in some fantastic activities that are being put on this Saturday.
“This is the first Christmas for the Yellow Ribbon Community at the Halfway House, which has been a treasured and loved iconic building by the Wellington community and residents of Telford and Wrekin over many years."
The nativity scene was built by Leo and Maureen Horton of Loco’s Circus.
The team at Halfway House, which is supported by the government, are eager to engage with local businesses, wellness agencies, and community groups to get involved with activities next year – anyone interested can contact the team at info@halfwayhouseonthewrekin.co.uk
