South Shropshire police crack down on drug dealing in Ludlow

Ludlow residents can expect to see a continued presence of police officers as South Shropshire Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT) ramp up efforts to combat drug-related activity in the area.
On Friday, January 10th, officers conducted Operation Conyay, which specifically targeted drug dealing in Ludlow.
The operation resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old man in the Sandpits area for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and a drug-related driving offence.
In addition to the arrest, officers conducted numerous vehicle and person stops, gathering valuable intelligence that will be used to further target those involved in drug trafficking.
PC Fern Johnson, the Safer Neighbourhood Officer for Ludlow, emphasised her commitment to working with the community to address drug issues.
PC Johnson said, "I am committed, along with my PCSO’s Sue Cooke and Beth Francis, to working with the residents of Ludlow to tackle drug dealing and drug use. We continue to build strong links with the community and are grateful for those who provide us with information to enable us to proactively target those areas most affected. If you would like to pass information to my team, you can contact us at ludlow.snt@westmercia.police.uk."
Sergeant Jenni Price said: "The South Shropshire Safer Neighbourhood Teams are continually running proactive operations in the area to tackle the main issues harming the communities. Drug abuse and drug dealing comes with significant risks to the community and officers will use everything in their toolkit to prevent, detect and deter offenders.
"If you deal drugs in South Shropshire, know that the team are truly committed to find you and bring you to justice. There will be many more operations in the coming weeks and months."
