Community consultation on Tasley Garden Village moves to next stage
Family-owned housebuilder, Bloor Homes, working in partnership with Taylor Wimpey, have launched the next stage of community consultation on emerging outline plans for Tasley Garden Village.

The online-based consultation will be complemented by drop-in exhibition events held in Bridgnorth over two days in mid-February, ahead of an outline planning application being submitted to Shropshire Council in the spring of 2025.
Tasley Garden Village is an exciting proposal for a new garden community on the southwestern edge of Bridgnorth, which has been designed to meet the growth and development needs of the town over the next fifteen years.
Informed by a draft allocation in the emerging new Shropshire Local Plan, the site-wide vision is to deliver a holistic development providing up to 1,500 homes, a new two-form entry primary school, a range of community facilities, all set within extensive landscaped public open space including a new 19.5ha country park for Bridgnorth.
In addition to new homes, a new school and community facilities, Tasley Garden Village will also provide 14.6ha of employment land, with uses geared towards commercial space, light industrial and agri-business.
Initial preparation work on the site was led by Taylor Wimpey, who worked closely with Shropshire Council to define the parameters for a garden community that would meet Bridgnorth’s future housing and infrastructure needs, with the site subsequently being included as a draft allocation in the emerging Shropshire Local Plan.
Midlands-based housebuilder Bloor Homes assumed control of the majority of the site in 2023 and the family-owned firm is now leading on the delivery of Tasley Garden Village. Taylor Wimpey has retained control over a smaller part of the site and continues to work in partnership with Bloor Homes.
Max Whitehead, Planning Director at Bloor Homes Midlands, said: “We are delighted to be able to provide more detail on our evolving plans for a distinctive, landscape-led community with a bespoke design approach unique to the site. Feedback from local people will help to further shape the plans before we submit an outline planning application in the Spring.” The consultation website can be viewed at www.tasleygardenvillage.uk, with local residents and businesses having the opportunity to provide feedback. Information from the online consultation is also being presented at consultation drop-in events being held as follows:
Wednesday 12th February 2025, Bridgnorth Rugby Club, Bandon Lane, Bridgnorth, WV15 5AD, 2pm – 7pm.
Thursday 13th February 2025, St Leonard’s Hall Church, Racecourse Drive, Tasley, WV16 4NR, 11am – 5pm.
Mr Whitehead added, “An outline planning application is the first stage in the formal planning process, setting out the broad principles and parameters of development. We look forward to hearing from
local people on various aspects of the emerging plans, including the illustrative layout, mix of homes and community facilities, employment land, connectivity, open space proposals and sports pitches.”
Stephen Swinscoe, Strategic Land Regional Director at Taylor Wimpey, added “We are very pleased to be presenting the illustrative outline masterplan for Tasley Garden Village which has been produced in partnership with Bloor Homes. While we are at an early stage in the outline planning process, this gives an indication of how the development might look, with an emphasis on extensive green infrastructure, the preservation of landscape features and the provision of high-quality community facilities. We look forward to hearing the views of the local community through this next phase of consultation as we continue to refine our proposals.”
Local residents and businesses are being encouraged to view the plans and provide feedback either online or at one of the consultation drop-in events, with feedback accepted until Friday 28th February 2025.
