Cornovii Homes Shropshire Council’s wholly owned housing company, has entered the private rental sector by providing high-quality homes for local tenants across multiple developments.

Cornovii Homes now offering properties for private rental

A total of 38 homes are available, providing a boost to the local rental market with high-quality options.

The move aims to provide competitive and attractive housing choices for local tenants. Currently, 13 homes are already occupied in Ellesmere, Ifton, and The Oaklands.

Another 13 properties will become available this month, with 12 one and two-bedroom apartments at Charles’ View, London Road, ready for occupancy by mid-March.

"These homes include a mix of one-bed bungalows, two, three, and four-bedroom houses, so we are catering to a variety of tenant needs," said Debbie Hancox, Cornovii Homes’ sales and aftercare manager. "Cornovii Homes prioritises keyworkers, armed forces, veterans, and those with a local connection, ensuring that our communities are supported and strengthened."

The company has partnered with letting agent Spencer Jakeman to ensure competitive rental rates and provide tenants with affordable and high-quality living options and secure tenancies.

Dean Carroll, Shropshire Council Cabinet member for housing and assets, emphasised the quality of the new homes. "These new-build homes for private rental through Cornovii Homes are prime properties," he said. "The range of homes available appeals to a wide cross-section of tenants within the defined eligibility criteria. They offer a secure tenancy and an opportunity for people to make their home in our thriving communities.”

Initial tenancies are for 12 months, with the option to continue as long as tenants meet the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.
