Firefighters tackle bedroom fire in Oswestry
Fire crews from Oswestry and Ellesmere swiftly extinguished a bedroom fire at a property on Laburnum Drive yesterday afternoon.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the incident at 3.58 pm on Tuesday, April 22nd. Two fire appliances and an operations officer were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters located the fire within a bedroom of the house. As a precautionary measure, crews isolated the gas and electricity supplies to the property.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and used one hose reel jet to bring the flames under control.
A ventilation fan was then deployed to clear smoke from the affected areas, and a thermal imaging camera was used to check for any hidden hotspots.
