Road closures planned for A495 Mereside maintenance in Ellesmere

Motorists using the A495 Mereside in Ellesmere are advised of upcoming road closures due to essential maintenance work scheduled to take place from Thursday, May 16th to Wednesday, May 22nd, 2025, on weekdays only.

The maintenance will necessitate the closure of the A495 Mereside daily between the hours of 9.30 am and 4.00 pm.

The majority of the work will involve crucial patching and pothole repairs to improve the road surface. In addition, crews will be carrying out gully adjustments and kerb resets.

A signed diversion route will be in place for affected traffic during the closure periods. Drivers are advised to follow the signed route, although depending on their vehicle type, alternative diversion routes may be available.

The work is being carried out by Multevo on behalf of Shropshire Council.

Access will be maintained for local residents and businesses situated within the closure zone whenever it is safe to do so. Furthermore, access will be specifically provided for emergency vehicles, school buses, and taxis.

Road users are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and allow for potential delays during the maintenance period.
