The man shown in a CCTV image released by police after an assault in Shrewsbury earlier this week has now been located.

UPDATE: CCTV appeal victim located after Shrewsbury assault

UPDATE: Police have now confirmed the victim has been located and thanked the public for sharing the appeal.

Police in Shrewsbury had renewed their appeal for information earlier this week as they continued efforts to locate the victim of a serious assault in the town.

The incident occurred two days prior, and the individual involved had not yet been found at the time. Officers released a CCTV image of the man they believed was injured, hoping members of the public could help identify or locate him.

Detective Inspector Rich Davies from Shropshire CID had expressed growing concern over the man’s wellbeing.

“Almost two days on from the assault, the victim has not yet been located, and we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare,” he said at the time. “We believe he has suffered potentially serious injuries and want to ensure he receives urgent medical attention.”

In a direct message to the individual, DI Davies had added: “If you are the person in this image – please get in contact with us. You are not in trouble, and we want to make sure you are ok.”

Police had urged anyone who recognised the man in the image or had information about his whereabouts to come forward.
