Two casualties treated following head-on collision between car and HGV in Telford

Emergency services were called to a collision on Parkway in Madeley this morning, following a head-on crash between a saloon car and a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV).
Three fire appliances, including the specialised Rescue Tender, were mobilised from Telford Central, Tweedale, and Wellington fire stations, with a Fire Operations Officer also in attendance to oversee the multi-agency response.
The collision involved a direct, head-on impact between the saloon car and the HGV at just after 7am.
Upon arrival, fire crews immediately focused on making the vehicles safe. Personnel used "small gear" to secure the accident scene while collaborating closely with colleagues from the Land Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police.
Two casualties were treated by the ambulance service at the scene of the incident.
A spokesperson for the SFRS thanked all agencies involved for their efficient joint working and extended gratitude to the public: "Thank you to all agencies for the excellent joint working, and to the public for their patience while the road remained partially blocked during the incident."
Motorists are being urged to exercise caution following the incident, particularly given the current wet conditions on the roads. "Stay safe, and please take extra care on the roads, with the wet conditions today," the spokesperson added.
