Cat rescued following kitchen blaze in Madeley
A cat was rescued from a house fire on Park Lane in Madeley earlier this morning, Saturday 24 January.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 11.46 am, following reports of a fire breaking out within a residential property.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) Fire Control quickly mobilised two fire appliances from the Telford Central station, with an Operations Officer also attending the scene to coordinate the response.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire originating in the kitchen of the home, which was rapidly filling the premises with smoke.
Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus entered the property to locate the source of the blaze and search for any occupants. Using a hosereel jet, teams managed to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to the rest of the building. Thermal imaging cameras were employed throughout the operation to identify hidden hotspots within the walls and ceiling, ensuring the area was entirely safe.
During the search, fire personnel located the family cat inside the smoke-filled house. The animal was safely brought outside and immediately administered oxygen therapy by the crews on site.
The incident was brought under control relatively quickly, with the official "stop" message received by control at 12.13 pm.
