Police crackdown on night-time vehicle nuisance at Harlescott Park and Ride site

Police have issued a firm warning to motorists following a surge in anti-social behaviour (ASB) and vehicle-related disturbances at the Harlescott Park and Ride site in Shrewsbury.
Residents living near the facility, situated adjacent to the Tesco Extra supermarket, have reported escalating issues with noise and dangerous driving during the late evening and early morning hours.
Officers are currently investigating a range of offences including street racing, "donuts," and the illegal use of unlicensed powered vehicles such as off-road bikes.
Beyond the immediate physical danger of high-speed manoeuvres, police have highlighted the persistent nuisance of engine revving and the abandonment of vehicles, which have collectively diminished the quality of life for the local community.
The neighbourhood policing team has made it clear that such inconsiderate behaviour in public spaces will no longer be tolerated. To strengthen their enforcement efforts, they are calling on the public to act as their "eyes and ears" by documenting incidents as they happen.
Specifically, officers are seeking details such as vehicle registration plates, clear descriptions of the makes and models involved, and a summary of the dangerous activity witnessed.
By gathering a robust body of evidence, the police aim to issue formal warnings, seize vehicles where necessary, and restore peace to the Battlefield area.
