Fire crews tackle early morning blaze at Prees Industrial Estate

Fire crews were called to a Shropshire industrial estate in the early hours of this morning, 11 February, following reports of a property fire.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 4.40 am, alerting them to an incident at the Prees Industrial Estate.

In response, three fire appliances were immediately mobilised to the scene. Crews from Prees, Wem, and Whitchurch attended the site, supported by a senior Operations Officer who oversaw the firefighting efforts.

Upon arrival, fire service personnel identified three distinct seats of fire located on the ground floor of an industrial unit.

Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus entered the premises to locate the source of the blaze. They successfully brought the incident under control using a combination of main jets and hosereel jets.

The swift action of the responding crews prevented further spread within the building. Following a thorough dampening down of the affected areas and safety checks, the fire was fully extinguished by 5.52 am.
