Telford woman jailed for series of shoplifting offences in Newport
A woman has been sentenced to 44 weeks in prison for a series of shoplifting offences at a store in Newport.
Samantha Baxter, 49, of Malcolm Davies Drive in Telford, was handed the jail term at Telford Magistrates’ Court.
She committed seven theft offences, all at Boots on High Street last month, January, with stolen items amounting to approximately £2,700.
The offences were carried out during a suspended sentence which Baxter was handed in September 2025 for other theft incidents.
On Thursday 5 February she was arrested, charged and remanded, and then sentenced to 44 weeks imprisonment on the same day.
