Three vehicle collision on A41 at Whitchurch leaves one person trapped

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received an emergency call at 8.58 pm on Thursday, 26 February, reporting a road traffic collision on the A41.

Three fire appliances were immediately dispatched to the scene from Prees, Wellington, and Whitchurch stations. They were supported by a specialist Rescue Tender and operations officers who oversaw the complex extraction process.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a multi-vehicle scene involving three cars. Firefighters found one individual remained trapped inside their vehicle, requiring the use of Holmatro hydraulic cutting equipment to safely remove them.

West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police were also in attendance to provide medical support and manage the flow of traffic.

The A41 remained partially blocked while the agencies worked to secure the area and clear the involved vehicles.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area for several hours following the incident as recovery teams cleared the carriageway.
