Police issue fresh appeal after student sexually assaulted in Woodside
Detectives have issued a renewed plea for information following a "concerning" sexual assault on a student in Woodside earlier this month.

The incident took place on Monday 2 March in the Wellsfield area. According to police reports, a girl was walking to school when she was approached by a man who attempted to pull her trousers down and tried to steal her bag.
Following an immediate search of the surrounding area by patrol officers, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. He has since been released on bail while West Mercia Police continue their enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Malik, from the Public Protection Unit, highlighted the local concern caused by the attack and emphasised that the investigation is still very much active. He noted that while the initial response led to a swift arrest, officers are now looking for further evidence from the public to help progress the case.
Investigators are particularly keen to speak with motorists who were driving in the Woodside area between 7.30 am and 10 am on the morning of 2 March. They are specifically appealing for any dashcam footage that may have captured a white man wearing grey clothing with distinct orange features walking in the vicinity.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw a man matching that description, or possesses relevant footage is urged to contact the investigation team. Information can be sent via email directly to Detective Sergeant Osman Malik at osman.malik@westmercia.police.uk or to Sarah Forster at sarah.forster@westmercia.police.uk.
