Woman given order banning her from stores in Telford

A prolific shoplifter has been given a 36-month Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which bans her from entering a number of stores in Telford.
Anna Stevenson, of no fixed abode, was given the CBO at Shropshire Magistrates Court sitting at Telford, on Tuesday 31 March after she was caught stealing from several shops in Telford.
Magistrates handed the 39-year-old the order after hearing how on Thursday 26 February she had stolen from Greggs, Iceland and Deichman.
The CBO means that Stevenson cannot enter Telford Centre, Forge Retail Park, Iceland in Southwater Square or Boots on New Street in Wellington until March 2029.
Stevenson is also not to enter any retail premises that she has knowingly been banned from or has been provided a banning notice from. She also must not refuse to leave a premises when asked to do so by an employee or security.
Sergeant Rich Jones, from Telford's town centre team, said: “Stevenson’s offending has had a significant impact on local businesses, and this Criminal Behaviour Order is an important step in preventing further harm.
"The restrictions put in place give retailers and the wider community greater protection, and we will not hesitate to take action if the order is breached. We remain committed to working with partners and local stores to tackle persistent shoplifting and keep our town centres safe.”
If you see Stevenson breach her CBO conditions, please contact the police at 101 or report it online.
