Car collides with property in St Georges, Telford

A major emergency response was triggered late on Saturday night, 11 April, after a vehicle veered off the road and collided with a house in St Georges, prompting local authorities to assess the building's structural integrity.
The incident occurred at 11:44 pm, drawing a heavy presence from multiple agencies across the borough. Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service dispatched three fire appliances from Telford Central, Tweedale, and Wellington stations, alongside a specialist rescue tender and an operations officer to manage the complex scene.
Upon arrival, crews discovered that a car had struck the property with significant force. Firefighters worked immediately to stabilise the area, while West Mercia Police cordoned off the surrounding roads and West Midlands Ambulance Service stood by to provide medical assistance.
The severity of the impact required coordination with several civil authorities. Representatives from Telford and Wrekin Council attended to conduct an urgent assessment of the building’s structural safety. Meanwhile, utility company engineers were called out to inspect the site for potential damage to essential services, such as gas and electricity, which may have been compromised during the crash.
While the site was eventually made safe, the emergency services have yet to confirm the extent of any injuries sustained by those involved.
