Grange Park Primary School U11 girls crowned regional champions and set for national finals

Grange Park Primary School's Under-11 Girls football team has achieved outstanding success in the National League Trust competition, earning their place in the upcoming national finals.

The team first secured victory in the district round, representing AFC Telford with determination and skill. Building on this success, they travelled to Solihull to compete in the regional finals, where they delivered an exceptional performance throughout the tournament.

Remaining unbeaten in the group stages, the team advanced confidently to the knockout rounds. They secured a commanding 3 - 0 victory in the semi-final before going on to win a closely contested final 2 - 1, sealing their place as regional champions.

This remarkable achievement means the team will now travel to York on Wednesday 22nd April to represent AFC Telford in the National League Trust National Finals. The stakes are high, as the winners of the national finals will earn the unforgettable opportunity to play at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 10th May, ahead of the National League Promotion Final.

Headteacher, Richard Thorpe, said: "We are incredibly proud of our U11 girls and everything they have achieved so far. Their teamwork and positive attitude have been outstanding.

"They have represented both the school and AFC Telford with great pride. Reaching the national finals is a fantastic accomplishment and we are all excited to see them compete.

"Whatever the outcome of Wednesday’s tournament they are a real credit to our school."

The entire school community will be cheering them on as they take this next exciting step on the national stage.
