New Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Telford and Wrekin elected

At the meeting on Thursday, 21 April, Councillor Nathalie Page was elected as Mayor of the Borough of Telford & Wrekin for 2026/27, having previously served as Deputy Mayor during 2025/26.

Councillor Page is a ward member for The Nedge and has been an elected member of Telford & Wrekin Council since 2024.

Councillor Raj Mehta was elected as Deputy Mayor for 2026/27. Cllr Mehta, a ward member for Horsehay and Lightmoor, previously served as Mayor of the Borough in 2022/23.

During her year in office, the Mayor will represent the Borough at civic events and support local community groups, voluntary organisations and good causes across Telford and Wrekin.

It is also the role of the Mayor to support charitable fundraising during their term of office. Councillor Page has chosen to support the Lingen Davies Cancer Support Sunflower Appeal, which aims to raise £5m to build and open the first dedicated cancer treatment centre in Telford and Wrekin in 2029.

Mayor of the Borough of Telford and Wrekin, Councillor Nathalie Page, said: “It is a great honour to be elected as Mayor of the Borough of Telford and Wrekin, following my year serving as Deputy Mayor. I am proud to represent our communities and look forward to meeting residents, businesses and organisations from across the borough over the coming year.

“As Mayor, I am passionate about supporting our local area and championing the people and places that make Telford and Wrekin such a special borough.

“A central part of the Mayor’s role is to support and champion the incredible voluntary and community sector we have here in Telford and Wrekin. I am really looking forward to working with local charities and organisations over the year ahead, helping to raise awareness and funds for causes that make a real difference to people’s lives across the borough.”
