Shropshire charity rounders is a fundraising hit
More than 200 employees from Morris Care Nursing Homes across Shropshire and Cheshire have taken part in an inter-home rounders match.

Held at Priory School, Shrewsbury, the match saw eight Morris Care teams, including staff from Isle Court Nursing Home and Radbrook Nursing Home, Shrewsbury, assemble in personalised team t-shirts ready to take on the eagerly anticipated charitable sporting challenge.
After two and a half hours of play in adrenalin fuelled heats, Isle Court Nursing Home won the coveted trophy, closely followed by Corbrook Court Nursing Home. Players and their supporters were treated to a hog roast and refreshments, provided by Morris Care.
Oldbury Grange Nursing Home’s Social Life Co-ordinator, Geraldine Bunning, who organised the event said: "This is the first time our homes have gone head to head in a charitable event and it was great fun. It took many of us back to our school days, although some of us aren’t quite as fit as we were back then! I would like to thank everyone who gave up their time and participated.”
Residents from Isle Court and Corbrook Court chose the County Air Ambulance as their nominated charity. Over £400 was donated by Morris Care and a cheque will be presented to the County Air Ambulance shortly.
