Promotion and expansion for county catering firm Hammonds Catering
A leading Shropshire catering company has announced a 40% increase in turnover so far this year compared to 2011 - despite the current economic climate and disappointing weather situation.

Hammonds Catering, of Telford and Shrewsbury, provide contract services to businesses across the county but have seen a significant increase in demand for barbeques and hog roasts for both corporate and private functions.
To accommodate the increase in business, experienced staff member Karen Shephard, aged 37, of Randlay, Telford, has been appointed as events organiser. Karen will assist company director Sally Hammond, who currently provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for customers as an events planner, by providing independent information and advice relevant to expectations and budgets.
Karen says: “We have noticed a dramatic increase in the demand for the more informal catering services such as hog roasts, trio roasts and barbeques, rather than traditional sit-down meals for business functions, weddings and social gatherings, together with requests for more unusual dishes of fish and marinated meats, which can work out more cost effective for the client.
“Following customer feedback we also seem to be providing all sorts of extra services, especially for weddings, including booking marquees, florists, photographers and disco’s, monitoring timing schedules, even down to the choice of napkin colours, and our elaborate mobile bar service is proving very popular.
“We believe that our waiting staff are the ‘face’ of Hammonds Catering and each has over a decade’s experience, helping to ensure that everything goes as planned, enabling the bridal couple and their guests to concentrate on enjoying their special day.”
Hammonds Catering supply daily to firms and factories across the county, but have started expanding into the wider region, now catering for functions from Birmingham and Leominster to Llangollen.
