The Wrekin Housing Trust has taken on the repairs and maintenance contract for Wolverhampton’s Bushbury Hill Estate Management Board.

Trust takes on Bushbury Hill repairs contract worth £500,000

Bushbury Hill Estate Management Board has been using the Trust’s home lettings system Chooseyourhome for the last five years and has now awarded the Trust their repairs contract.

The new contract with a value of £500,000 will see the Trust provide a dedicated team to deliver the responsive repairs and maintenance service for Busbhury’s 900 homes in Wolverhampton, as well as call centre service and repairs to empty properties.

Ken Spilsbury, Chair of Bushbury Hill Estate Management Board, said of the new contract: “We were very impressed with the innovative way that the Trust works. We are absolutely committed to delivering an outstanding repairs service for tenants and it’s clear The Wrekin Housing Trust share our ideals and goals and will work with us to ensure we give an improved repairs service that is shaped around the needs of our tenants.”

The contract was awarded through a robust and competitive tendering process which looked at costs, value for money, customer care and quality of work and The Wrekin Housing Trust, whose repairs team has won several awards, was selected ahead of several other contractors.

David Wells, General Manager at The Trust, said the new contract will introduce new and efficient ways of working which will benefit residents such as same day repairs and quicker turnaround on repairs to empty properties. He added: “We’re really looking forward to working with Bushbury Hill and making sure their residents receive a great service.”

The official signing of the contract took place recently and the contract will start this month.

The Trust has also been placed on a framework to be considered for future work and contracts for Equity Housing Group.
