Lingen Davies Cancer Fund supports job boost

A local cancer charity is looking for two new members of staff – including a budding social media whizz – to boost its fundraising efforts as part of the Government’s post-Covid recruitment drive.
Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, which exists to make a positive difference to the lives and treatment of cancer patients throughout Shropshire and Mid Wales, has vacancies for a Digital Communications Officer, and an Administration Assistant on temporary contracts.
The roles have been created as part of the Government’s Kickstart Programme which is intended to get people under-25, and in receipt of Universal Credit, into work. Based in the office at the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre on the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site, the communications officer will be tasked with developing media channels and raising awareness about the work of the charity. The admin assistant will help ensure smooth day to day operations of the office.
Naomi Atkin, CEO of Lingen Davies Fund, said this was a brilliant opportunity for those looking to develop their career, and get involved with a flourishing charity that makes a real positive impact on the day to day lives of many local people.
“Lingen Davies Cancer Fund has been running for more than 40 years and we have helped thousands of people during that time whose lives have been impacted by cancer. We are a vital charity for so many local residents and we are looking for enthusiastic people to join us and help grow engagement with our work and fundraising efforts.
“The Kickstart scheme is a great initiative for businesses and charities to find new talent and this is a really exciting time for people to take a step forward in their career,” she added.
