Social care charity celebrates 30th birthday
Bethphage, a care provider of support for adults with learning disabilities and autism, has celebrated its its 30th birthday.

The milestone event was marked with a birthday party filled with fun, games, and laughter, bringing together staff, individuals supported by Bethphage, and Shared Lives carers.
Held at Mereside Community Centre in Shrewsbury and with a tent from Curious Tent Hire, we were well-sheltered from the temperamental British weather. With a fantastic DJ set from Zara Bowden of “Tomorrow’s Joy”, karaoke, a raffle and games, there was something for everyone.
Karaoke classics like “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and “Super Trouper” echoed throughout the venue, while outside, guests engaged in delightful garden party games within the charming bell-tent. Adding to the entertainment, a photobooth from Fun Party Booth captured memorable moments.
A highlight of the event was the return of the Bethphage raffle, featuring amazing prizes generously donated by local businesses and supporters. Guests also enjoyed pizza from Vine’s Pizza Shack and an array of sandwiches and desserts.
No celebration is complete without a cake, and Bethphage’s 30th birthday was no exception. A bespoke cake crafted by Cake it or Leave it added a sweet touch to the occasion.
Bethphage’s Development Manager, Alice Blakeman said:
“Bethphage extends heartfelt gratitude to all the supporters and “Friends of Bethphage” who played a pivotal role in making the event a resounding success. Special thanks are due to the Blakemore Trust for their generous contribution and to Helen Pugh of FlexAssist, who raised over £900.”
The organization also expresses appreciation to the individuals and local businesses that donated raffle prizes: The Beefy Boys, CSons, The Pheasant at Neenton, The British Ironworks Centre, Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, The Climbing Hut, Jennifer T, and Booka Bookshop.
