An animatronic dinosaur is one of the treats visitors can expect from the 10th Annual Market Drayton Arts Festival, that offers activities to encourage residents to explore the arts.

Market Drayton Arts Festival celebrates 10 glorious years

The dinosaur is the idea of the town’s library that will also host a number of sessions for children including crafts and storytelling.

There are several free workshops at the Festival Drayton Centre including a virtual reality climate experience and a junior workshop from the Market Drayton Am Drams.

Organiser Suzanne Edwards said “the festival is such a team effort and would not be possible without the support of so many organisations in the town.  It’s grown every year and so for our 10th anniversary I encourage everyone to come and experience art”

“Most activities are free and for those that have a fee to cover costs we’ve kept prices as low as possible”.

A school’s calendar project runs alongside the festival where pupils from primary schools in the area contribute art work.  There will be an exhibition to celebrate 10 years of calendars held in The Grove School.

The festival runs from 25 October to 5 November and a full programme is available at draytonartsfestival.org.
