Motocross rider injured near Shrewsbury
A motocross rider was yesterday seriously injured after a crash at an event near Shrewsbury. The incident occurred at Hawkstone Park at around 9.30am.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival at the scene, crews found a motocross rider that is believed to have fallen whilst going over a jump.
“The boy, believed to be 14 years old, suffered serious leg injuries in the crash and received emergency treatment at the scene including pain relief. The boy was airlifted from the scene to University Hospital North Staffordshire for further emergency treatment."
The hospital had been pre alerted to the boys arrival and his serious injuries.
