Police continue to interview Loppington robbery suspects
Police were today continuing to interview three men in connection with a Shropshire robbery in which an elderly man was badly beaten.

A major police investigation was launched late on Tuesday night after the 76-year-old pensioner was attacked in his home at Loppington, near Wem and his pickup vehicle stolen.
Three young men were arrested on Wednesday afternoon at an address in the Wem area on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
Detective Inspector Mick Homden, the senior investigating officer, said today: “We successfully applied last night for a custodial extension while our enquiries continue.
“We will be speaking to the three men again today.”
He said police officers were continuing their investigation and a priority was to trace the victim’s white Ford Ranger pickup which was taken by the intruders from outside his home as they left the premises.
“This is quite a distinctive open-backed vehicle which we believe is likely to be somewhere in north Shropshire. It’s possible it has been abandoned at an isolated location or it might have been put under cover in a garage or outbuilding.
“The registration number is PY08 LZX, although this could have been changed by the offenders. We really do need the public’s help in finding it and I would urge anyone with information about its current whereabouts, to call Shrewsbury CID on 0300 333 3000 as a matter of urgency.
“If you spot a white pickup van parked up in the north Shropshire area which appears to be suspicious in any way, please do call the police,” he added.
