Police today issued an appeal for witnesses after burglars broke into a Church Stretton pharmacy and stole cosmetics including various perfumes.

Church Stretton Pharmacy raided by Burglars in the early hours

The breakin at Hillside Pharmacy in Sandford Avenue happened between 12am and 12.30am today.

Police Constable Jane Breakwell, the investigating officer, said: "I am anxious to hear from anyone who spotted suspicious activity which might be connected to this incident."

She said two offenders are thought to have entered the shop. They arrived outside the premises in a black vehicle, possibly a Citroen AX, and gained entry by removing a glass panel in the front door.

Once inside, they searched the premises breaking into two glass cabinets stealing various brands of perfume.

They caused about £500 damage to the door and cabinets.

Any information to help police should be forwarded to PC Breakwell at Ludlow police station on 0300 333 3000, or to the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111.
