Shropshire charities and groups benefit from Shrewsbury Carnival funding
Shrewsbury’s Carnival committee held their annual presentation evening on Tuesday 13th September at the Greenhouse Meadow, home of Shrewsbury Town Football Club.

Local charities and groups who were successful in applying for funding from the proceeds of the event held in June were presented with their cheques.
In attendance for the event were the mayor and mayoress of Shrewsbury Tony and Tricia Durnell.
Speaking at the presentation the mayor said: “It is great that Shrewsbury carnival acknowledge so many local groups and charities in Shrewsbury and the surrounding area.
“We need to show our support for the Shrewsbury Carnival in the years to come and make sure it’s a legacy that goes on doing great work.
“It is a pleasure to have taken part in this year’s event, which is a great day for all to be involved with in Shrewsbury.”
The main beneficiary of the Shrewsbury Carnival this year was the Shrewsbury Renal Unit. With units in Shrewsbury, Telford and Ludlow the unit carries out over 150 dialyses per week. The money received will be used on purchasing new equipment.
