Two taken to hospital following fire near Newport

Two elderly people were treated in hospital for the effects of smoke inhalation after a fire at their home near Newport last night.

Two taken to hospital following fire near Newport

Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the fire along with Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service at just after 1.20am this morning.

The fire broke out in the 1st floor bathroom of their two story house in Tibberton near Newport.

One fire appliance from Newport, one from Wellington and two officers from Shrewsbury attended the blaze which was extinguished using 1 hose reel jet.
