Burst water main closes A464 at Boningale
A Shropshire road was this morning closed by police following a burst water main.
The major water main burst occurred on the A464 Hollyhead Road at Boningale, Severn Trent Water is currently assesing the burst.
It is understood that no customers have been affected by the burst with a loss of supply.
Traffic is being diverted via the A41 to the A5 at Weston-under-Lizard, then to the A4640 back towards Shifnal and on to the A464 – and vice versa. Local diversions are also in place via local routes.
The road is expected to remain closed until early next week whilst repairs to the water main and then road surface are carried out.
