Police are investigating after two brothers were assaulted following a night out in Telford.

Brothers assaulted following night out in Telford

The brothers - aged 18 and 24 - had been enjoying a night out in Wellington when the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday.

As the pair made their way home, at around 3am, they waited outside The Station Hotel in Station Road.

A group of eight to ten unknown males approached from the direction of Wellington bus station.

The two brothers were then punched to the ground and kicked around the head.

The 18 year-old suffered facial injuries and the 24 year-old suffered a broken nose, damaged teeth, blood loss and swelling to his face and head. The pair were taken to
The Princess Royal Hospital.

Police are investigating the incident and are eager to trace witnesses.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "It is believed that the youngest brother was involved in an altercation inside Pussy Cats nightclub earlier that night. It is possible that
the assault that followed may have been linked.

"We are appealing to people who were in the nightclub and saw anything that could help police with their enquiries to come forward.

"We are also eager to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of The Station Hotel around the time of the assault."

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Telford Police on 0300 333 3000 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
